With the widespread application of drone technology, the types of drone countermeasures have become increasingly diverse, ranging from detection to interference and interception. Various devices work together to jointly establish a low-altitude security defense line. According to different functions and countermeasuring principles, common drone countermeasures can be mainly classified into the following categories.
First, detection equipment
1. Radar detector
The radar detector is an important device for detecting unmanned aircraft. It emits electromagnetic waves and receives reflected waves to determine the position, speed, and direction of the unmanned aircraft. Doppler radar utilizes the Doppler effect, which can effectively distinguish unmanned aircraft from other flying objects such as birds, avoiding misjudgment; millimeter-wave radar has excellent detection capabilities for small, low-altitude flying unmanned aircraft, and can stably capture targets even in complex electromagnetic environments or adverse weather conditions. Such devices are often used in places with high requirements for airspace safety, such as airports and military bases, to achieve long-distance detection and early warning of unmanned aircraft.
2. Photoelectric detector
The photoelectric detector is mainly composed of a visible light camera and an infrared thermal imager. The visible light camera can clearly capture the shape of the unmanned aircraft under bright light conditions, and quickly identify the target by comparing the image with the models in the database; the infrared thermal imager, however, is not limited by light conditions and can detect the traces of the unmanned aircraft, even in the night or low visibility environment, with great sensitivity. Some advanced photoelectric detectors also integrate AI algorithms, which can analyze the flight trajectory of the unmanned aircraft and predict its action intentions, and are widely used in urban security, border monitoring, and other scenarios.
3. Acoustic detector
The acoustic detector detects unmanned aircraft through capturing the unique sound frequency generated by the rotation of the rotor. It can detect and locate unmanned aircraft flying at close range and at low speed. These devices are low in cost and easy to install, and are particularly suitable for use in small event venues, school campuses, and other areas. As a supplement to other detection devices, they can promptly detect approaching unmanned aircraft targets.

Second, interference devices
1. Signal Interference Gun
The signal interference gun is a portable interference device. By emitting high-power signals, it interferes with the 2.4GHz, 5.8GHz communication frequency bands commonly used by drones, as well as the satellite positioning frequency band around 1.5GHz. It cuts off the communication and navigation signals between the drone and the operator, causing the drone to lose control. It usually triggers the drone's return or hover functions. Due to its simple operation and convenient portability, it is often used in security work at airports, sports event venues, and important event sites. Security personnel can hold the device to quickly intervene in drones that approach illegally.
2. Protocol Deception Device
The protocol deception device simulates the communication protocol of the drone and forges control signals, attempting to take control of the drone's control rights. For example, it sends false GPS coordinates to make the drone deviate from the predetermined route and fly to a designated area; or sends instructions such as forced landing or return. Such devices require a deep understanding of the drone's communication protocol and have a high technical content. They can achieve relatively gentle control of the drone without damaging it and are suitable for scenarios where drones need to be captured or studied.
Third, interception devices
1. Capture net launcher
The capture net launcher captures the drone by launching a net bag at it and ensures its safe landing. This is a relatively "gentle" physical interception method. This device is suitable for scenarios where there is a need to recover the drone, such as when a research institution needs to obtain a specific drone for research, or when law enforcement agencies need to retain the drone as evidence. The launcher can be used in various ways, such as handheld, vehicle-mounted, or aircraft-mounted, with flexible operation and the ability to minimize damage to the drone and its surrounding environment to a certain extent.
2. Laser countermeasure device
The laser countermeasure device emits a high-energy laser beam, shining on the drone, causing a rapid increase in the temperature of the surface material of the drone within a short period of time, resulting in structural damage and circuit burnout, and thus losing its flight capability. This type of device has the characteristics of fast attack speed and high precision and can be used to deal with drone targets with certain threats. However, the laser countermeasure device has certain requirements for weather conditions. Its performance may be affected in rainy, foggy, or other adverse weather conditions.
3. High-energy microwave weapon
The high-energy microwave weapon emits high-power high-frequency pulsed electromagnetic waves, causing the microelectronic components inside the drone to burn out due to the huge heat energy, resulting in the drone losing control and crashing. Compared with laser weapons, the coverage range of high-energy microwave weapons is wider, and it can launch attacks on multiple drone targets simultaneously, suitable for dealing with drone swarm threats and playing an important role in military fields and the protection of large key facilities.
These common anti-drone devices each have their own characteristics and applicable scenarios.
